When Samar returns to his coastal Indian hometown for his grandfather’s funeral after years abroad, he and his sister Sara drift through quiet rituals during the mourning period. As relatives prepare to fulfill their grandfather’s wish for Sara to marry a family approved suitor, the siblings pull in opposite directions. Their tensions unfold on beaches, in stairwells, and through rituals as life carries on around them, in the lingering presence of a patriarch they barely knew and the place that shaped him.
