Aaron Hu (He/Him) is a Chinese American director of photography/ documentary filmmaker born in New Jersey. As a teenager, he was always drawn to films and the process in how they were made. Eventually, he started to watch Youtube videos on filmmaking and started his journey into the world of film.
His narrative fim, “The Road Home” took the Best Student Short award at the 2024 Jersey Shore Film Festival.
His most recent cinematography work, "Color of God" directed by Mrugesh Thakor, was officially selected by the Chicago South Asian Film Festival, the New York Shorts International Film Festival, and the International Film Festival of South Asia in 2025.
He has recently graduated from Pratt Institute’s class of 2025 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Filmmaking.
